Shopping safety tips from Harris County Sheriff
Harris County Sheriff Tommy Thomas offers holiday safety guidance for shoppers and homeowners. He advises shopping with a companion, keeping purses secure, staying aware of surroundings, making trips for multiple purchases, concealing packages in trunks, and seeking mall security escorts after dark. At home, he suggests avoiding visible wrapped gifts, keeping garages closed, leaving a radio on, using timers for lights, and delaying deliveries when no one is home to deter burglars.
