Salesman Hurt As Car Flips On Bridge

Gambler's Death Still A Mystery Rites Thursday
Joe Dickens a 46 year old Kemah gambler was found shot to death Tuesday morning in his kitchen. Autopsy showed a bullet entering high above the right ear traveling across the top of the skull. Paraffin tests indicated powder on his right hand and a Gere man Luger was found beside him. His death remains under investigation with charges and possible suicide considered. Dickens owned the Edgewater Inn and is survived by his wife Dorothy Lou Crowder, a daughter Dolores Jo, his mother and a brother. Funeral services set for Thursday in Kemah. Burial at Gal veston Memorial Park under Art Simpson Funeral home.
