Harris County taps Innocence Project to review troubled crime lab cases
The Innocence Project of Texas joins Harris County in reviewing 180 serology cases tied to Houston Police Department lab issues. The effort, started after a 1980s to 2000s span of problems, involves death row inmates and violent-crime convictions.

Lazaro Sanchez Espinoza a 50 year old Crosby resident was struck while crossing North Main Street in Crosby by a Chevrolet Trailblazer and later by an Isuzu pickup. He died at the scene. Police said alcohol and speed were not factors but Espinoza may have been intoxicated.

Baytown Man Dies After Bridge Fall in Matagorda County
Jaime Borunda, 38, of Baytown died in an industrial accident while working as a welder helper on the Colorado River Bridge FM 521 under construction. He fell 25 feet while handing sheet metal to a welder and was pronounced dead at the scene.
