Lawmaker Accrues Land From Convicted Drug Dealers
Texas state Rep Ismael Kino Flores is under a Travis County investigation expanding from a travel inquiry to his land holdings. The 2005 Hidalgo County six acre tract was acquired from convicted drug dealers and is tied to a ranch where an illegal immigrant was allegedly beaten to death by a ranch hand. Flores chairs the House gambling committee and has denied any connection to the killing.
