Baytown holiday tree contest draws diverse displays
The Baytown County Museum hosts a holiday tree competition with entries from Service League of Baytown Pilot Club Baytown Kennel Club and local schools. Trees range from white canine themed designs to Jamestown anniversary flags flip flop motifs and personalized tributes including trees honoring deceased relatives. Goose Creek retirement project moves toward closing
HOSPITAL BHA formed Goose Creek Retirement Community Inc to own the property. Eight extensions of the closing date were granted by the Methodist System. If closing falters the property could return to the market. Lawrence Wallace, president of both BHA and the new nonprofit, said the contract is with attorneys and a title company and expressed optimism. He expects a closing date by year end with a reanalysis, environmental study, appraisal, and architectural/engineering work, though renovations timing remains uncertain.
