Beaumont man held after Chambers County marijuana bust
William David Carter, 30, is jailed on aggravated possession charges after a major air smuggling seizure in Chambers County. About 1,400 pounds of baled marijuana with a $2.8 million street value were seized. A chase from an abandoned sulfur plant near Farm Road 563 led to a four car crash. four officers and the suspect were injured. The single engine plane was not recovered.
