Thanksgiving holiday traffic toll climbs to eighty in Texas

The Associated Press reports a grim Thanksgiving week end across Texas with eighty deaths from violence and accidents. notable losses include Clifford DeWitt Lynn 26 and Patsy Lynn 26 with infant daughter Melina in a fatal auto crash near Bishop. Murder Charged Student Shows No Grief Over Deaths

A University of Texas senior, 22, charged Sunday with murder in the deaths of his parents in Houston showed little emotion. John Lamar Indo told police he acted against society’s expectations and claimed a burglar killed them, then fired his rifle into the front yard. Detectives found six shell casings from Indo’s rifle in the house.

Decline in Vietnam troop strength sinks below 480000

Saigon reports American military strength in Vietnam has fallen to 479,500 as of last Thursday, the first drop below 480,000 in two years. The five month downward trend follows withdrawals begun last summer, with potential further reductions discussed by U.S. officials.
