Governor Wallace to Begin X-Ray Cancer Treatments
Houston doctors say Alabama Governor Lurleen Wallace may start radiation therapy next month. The six week plan follows the July 10 tumor removal at MD Anderson Hospital. Mrs Wallace, 40, will likely be treated as an outpatient after a September 10 checkup to decide if further precautionary therapy is needed.

Major Achievements Fail To Draw Voter Attention
Washington AP The Johnson administration cannot expect two global policy moves to win broad voter support next year yet they will shape Americans lives for years. Tariff cuts over five years and a new money framework with nine leading industrial nations aim to boost exports and trade. Officials say each $1 billion in exports creates about 197,000 American jobs, while acceptance depends on IMF approval and ratification by 35 percent of 166 nations. The moves reflect long bipartisan effort despite Vietnam news and urban issues.
