Rapid City South Dakota August 28 United Press reports a full B 36 crash on final approach at Ellsworth Air Base killing 24 crewmen. Three injured in critical condition. The incident marked the fourth fatal B 36 crash and the worst in the aircrafts history.

Mre Zellie Mae Johnson 53 of 210 Baal Hunnicutt Baytown died Saturday in a Baytown hospital. The body will be sent by Earth Man funeral home to Prescott Arkansas for funeral arrangements at Cornish funeral home. Survivors include husband C F Johnson four sons T F Coleman of Atlanta two daughters Mrs Men H Ferguson of Cardin Arkansas and Mrs Tom Barton of Micha waka, and father Henry A Lewis of Ashdown Arkansas. A brother Amos Lewis of Houston also survives.
On August 28 in Houston, Sgt. Tack Wears, a Visdefeotas machine expert, was nominated to succeed resigned Police Chief Ly D Morrison. The move follows Morrison stepping down, with Uptheing Monday announcing the nomination for the role.
