Coastal towns ban short term rentals on Gulf Coast
The coastal communities along Texas Gulf Coast move to ban short term rentals to preserve neighborhood quiet, with Bayou Vista blocking a two story bay house rental under 30 days. Critics warn losses in hotel taxes and investor exit threaten tourism and coast economy. Local cases in Galveston Island and nearby states show statewide shifts affecting homeowners and associations.
