Methodists accept buyout by Mont Belvieu church
Members of First United Methodist Church in Mont Belvieu voted unanimously to accept a buyout offer from the Mont Belvieu Program. Pastor Noy Pruitt said the meeting was united with little discussion, though the offer was viewed as a bit low. The church owns six acres on Eagle Drive near the post office and plans to move after purchasing a new parsonage in May.

Crosby youth killed in cycle crash
A 16 year old Crosby boy, Jason Rich, died from injuries after a two vehicle crash at First and Kernahan in Crosby. He was a Crosby High School student transported by Life Flight to Hermann Hospital in Houston where he died. Officials from Harris County Sheriff and Crosby Volunteer Fire Department described the motorcyclist as involved in a collision with another vehicle. the other occupants were not seriously injured.
