Little Jobs That Important Keep City Busy
Public Works Director C W Grantham and his crews have worked days on small tasks described as little jobs that are important. They opened 2100 feet of ditch on West Main from the American Legion Heli to shell Durain Farry Road and graded shoulders. A manhole is being built on the Fourth Street storm sewer while crews address water main leaks. Bemubina Street has been graded and oiled and a sanitary sewer ditch completed. The sewer behind the Yerland on West Main ends in a backyard, with plans to run concrete pipe to the bay. City Manager Middleton says these small tasks add up to essential city work and will enable more progress as equipment is available.
