Crosby home invasion suspects sought
Four masked intruders forced entry at 1042 MacBeth in Crosby early Saturday, pistol whipped a resident and shot another in the chest. The victim with the collapsed lung was hospitalized in stable condition. A third person remained at the scene while a fourth escaped through a back window and called 911. The attackers spoke Spanish and fled. no arrests reported.

Anderson replaces Brown on city council
Miguel A. Anderson was sworn in to complete Sharon Brown's term as Anahuac City Council Position 3 member. Brown, a write-in winner in May, resigned to move away. Anderson, a prior write-in candidate, was drafted by the mayor and council and appointed after an executive session. His term ends May 2012, and he pledged this is the start of his time in office.

Literacy Foundation brisket sale to aid reading aid
