Celebrity basketball game boosts Goose Creek students needs
Baytown native Victor Holmes and local sponsors host a celebrity basketball game from 2 to 3:30 pm at La Porte High School to raise funds for Goose Creek school supplies and clothes. Tickets are 5 dollars for adults and 2 dollars for children with all proceeds aiding Goose Creek elementary and junior high students.

Trial date set in Baytown capital murder case
Judge Jim Wallace scheduled November 2 for the capital murder trial of two Baytown men, Chris Crow and Ollie Ford Jr., after plea negotiations failed.
