Night crop dusting gains traction in Texas firm
Doyle Dobbins heads a Texas crop dusting operation highlighting night spraying with two 150000 candlepower lights under each wing. He says night dusting offers safer flight by using lights to spot power lines, relies on limited suitable nights, and aims to reduce daytime hazards from wind and heat while noting pilot moon horizon use and the need for skillful night navigation. Doyle’s brother Bobby also joined, moving from dusting to crew duties after early crashes.
