SJ Hospital Drive In Full Swing Now
The San Jacinto Methodist Hospital kick started a $670,500 building fund drive on Wednesday with a luncheon at the Holiday Inn and a push into full operation. Co chairs Sam Bramlett and Bill Strickler lead committees for special gifts, professional gifts, pattern gifts, business and industry, and hospital employee donations. The goal ties to a federal Hill-Burton matching grant to expand diagnostic, treatment facilities and add 42 beds, as part of a long-range plan including a new lab and x-ray center. Hospital administrators urge community support, noting Baytown growth and the need for more space to avoid a stalemate and to secure bids by January.
