AUSTIN AP The chair man of the House Appropriations Committee has received thousands of dollars for selling caliche rock to the state and private road builders. Heatly of Paducah sold caliche from land in Cattle County to state road beds at the standard price of 10 cents a ton, as confirmed by Texas Highway Department officials. Gov. Harlem Elementary to target 20 to 1 pupil ratio

Bronze Stars Awarded Two Baytown Soldiers
Baytown soldiers Spec Arnold and Sgt Boyett received Bronze Star Medals for meritorious service in Vietnam.
