The Army announced that about 110000 members of the Texas Guard and other reserve units will begin returning home from active duty begun last October. The return follows a 2 hour trip back from Fort Polk Louisiana and will occur within two days after units complete their active duty status.
BAYTOWN Little Theater will announce current production during Play of the Week on Channel 2 between 10 p m and midnight Sunday. Tickets for Triple Bill may be reserved by calling 366 7617. Also notes luncheon honors and charity contributions across local events and a film screening hosted by United Church Women about Question 7 at Brunson Theater.

Baytown Humble Oil workers face a bargaining election to decide representation by the Baytown Employees Federation of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union. A 1:30 p.m. meeting Monday at the Baytown Refinery will name election observers and set details. The poll dates run May 1 and 2 under NLRB supervision. News notes BEF filed the petition weeks ago. OCAW previously represented the workers before a 1959 election. OCAW officials may resume bargaining if talks reopen.
Mrs Justine Boudreaux celebrates her 100th birthday in Baytown with memories of New Orleans Gay Nineties steamboat trips and Creole cooking. She sews since age 45, guest at church choirs, and recalls Civil War era family history. Her Apostolic Blessing from Pope John XXIII honors the milestone.

County Commissioner Ramsey announced that the State Highway Commission will open bids in July for a multi million dollar Spur 3a from Four Corners to the proposed Spur 201 interchange near The Tower. The project includes two service roads with two 12 foot lanes, repairs to Deck er Drive, and 10 inches of lime stabilized concrete base with asphalt topping. Work is set to begin by August, with phased lane additions as justified, and right of way deeds expected before July.
