Twenty six new traffic officers will join Baytown police Monday and Tuesday to assist in safeguarding school children. Two patrolmen will be stationed at each school, acting as added warnings to drivers. The officers cost the city nothing and come with their own uniforms. Chief W B Montgomery noted the newcomers were donated by Coca Cola. They stand about four feet high and are painted to resemble traffic officers.

Einstein Dies at 76 in New Jersey Hospital
Nobel laureate Albert Einstein 76 died at Princeton Hospital after gall bladder inflammation. Six physicians, including three specialists, attended him as news of his death was briefly withheld. Three Youths Injured In Decker Drive Collision
Three youths were injured in a head on collision Saturday night on Decker Drive at Wade Road. They were released from San Jacinto Memorial hospital Monday and are recovering at home. Bobby Morgan age 18, passenger in a car driven by James Silvey 17, was most seriously hurt. Thurman Walls 17 was taken to the hospital with painful but not serious injuries. Silvey reported swerving to avoid a car with no tail lights, causing the crash into T R Campbell of Ellington Field driving toward Houston.

Baytown Police Hunt For Kit Run Motorist
Baytown police searched Monday for a hit and run driver who sideswiped the car of A. B. Lawrence a Chambers County rancher Sunday night on Highway 146 near Bob Smith Road. Lawrence was uninjured and about $500 in damage was caused to his car.

Salk Vaccine Delivery For 3500 Area Children
About 3 500 children in Harris County area will receive the Salk polio vaccine Tuesday through public schools as part of a large vaccination drive. In Baytown 2 400 children are slated to get shots, with additional doses prepared for children in Crosby Drew Huffman Sacred Heart and nearby districts. Dr James A Bethea executive director of the state hospital board said he will recommend hiring 200 more attendants at the Rusk State hospital following Saturdays riot in ward seven involving 80 criminally insane Negro patients. Dr Castner superintendent was injured and nine people were hurt as Riley the 2712 pound murderer called the Son of God led the assault. Castner was held hostage briefly while Texas Ranger Captain Bob Crowder negotiated. Injured Boy Urges Paper to Cover His Story
Joseph Martin seven fell from a tree at 1313 Elm Baytown Saturday, landing on a pipe and debris. He knocked out three teeth and broke another, with facial bruising and torn gums. He was rushed to Baytown hospital where mouth surgery was performed and he asked reporters to tell the story.
