City council approves annexation with 6 1 vote

The council moves forward with limited annexation on three parcels totaling 46.3 acres after a density count under 99 residences. A state exemption for agricultural land allows seven year or early development based voluntary annexation, while a separate Chambers County parcel proceeds without opposition. The panel also eases outdoor exhibition rules at Bicentennial Park and approves a design contract for Fire Station 7, slated to begin in late 2012 and open in late 2013.
