Incinerator, Waste Management tie Little Elm to drug disposal plan
Waste Management partners with Little Elm to ship outdated medicines to the Chambers County Anahuac incinerator for destruction. The facility, Texas’ largest high temperature unit, will process drugs from a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality arrangement aimed at keeping pharmaceuticals out of the water supply and supporting National Drug Collection Day. The site, once county owned, was sold to WM in 2008, with DEA among users, while Little Elm negotiates a deferred fine by TCEQ with this plan.
