The local Top Ladies of Distinction host a 5 pm fashion show titled The Splendor of Spring at J D Walker Community Center Wade Road. Thirty models from church groups First Ladies of Fashion and local retailers will wear outfits from J C Penney Palais Royal Catherine’s Plus Sizes and more. Tickets at the door are 15 for under 18 and 25 for 18 and up. The fundraiser supports teen scholarships and community beautification projects led by Judy Hunter and the local chapter.
Frances Pryor, center, first graduating class member, attended Robert E. Lee High School’s Singing Hands production Legends of Lee. Her granddaughter Carrie Pryor Newman, a 1982 Lee graduate, and great-granddaughter Ashley Newman, a Singing Hands member, also in attendance as Pryor’s son David, a 1958 Lee graduate, completes four generations of Lee Ganders. The event benefited Project Graduation, an all night drug and alcohol free celebration for graduates.
