Texans Back Trans Fat Ban In Restaurants In Texas
Texans favor a push by Sen. Eliot Shapleigh and Rep. Carol Alvarado to phase in bans on trans fats in restaurants using healthy oils. The Texas Restaurant Association backs the bill noting many members already eliminating trans fats to curb obesity and health costs. A UT environmental report urges conservation of water and energy to lower costs and power demand, with EDF involvement and a call for studies on water availability for new plants.
