Texas Parks and Wildlife funding shortfall hits state parks
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department faces a major funding crisis after a 45 million dollar cut in the 78th Legislature. Poaching fines provide only a fraction of needed support, sparking concerns over access to Palo Duro Canyon Enchanted Rock Brazos Bend and Battleship Texas sites for Texans and visitors. Officials warn that continued underfunding could limit future generations’ opportunities to enjoy the state’s natural treasures.
