June 18 First Sunday after Trinity service at St Mark's Baxter Springs with 8 pm Sunday worship. Local notes include crop reports oats poor corn drought, harvests, weather, and social events at J S Cooper home. Widespread town life covers baptisms, funerals, weddings, and community updates with several residents’ travels and illnesses.
Booster Day returns to Baxter Springs with merchants offering special prices on Saturday June 24. A rest room on Military street will serve visiting ladies and children with ice water and seating while registration opens early. A grand drawing of seventy prizes occurs at 3 30 with priority for local shoppers.
