McClure Buys Sawmill Property In Woolwich

J Horace McClure Woolwich automobile dealer today reported he purchased Eben Dana s sawmill and equipment. He plans to tear down the mill and sell the equipment. Lumber salvaged will be used to erect a fence around his automobile sales lot and in the construction of a new building.

Five Islands Bath Teachers Enroll In Sunday School Course

Five Islands Sunday School teachers from the Baptist church began a teacher training course at Elm Street church in Bath with members including Mrs. William Marr, Mrs. Franz Stevens, Mrs. Reginald Church and others. William Marr provided transportation last week as classes meet on alternating Mondays. A local work party cleared trees around Five Islands Library hall followed by a baked beans supper hosted by the Library Association.

Milton Savage Dies Suddenly in Bath at 55

Milton Curtis Savage 55 of Bath died Thursday at his home 902 High Street. Born August 26, 1992 in Bath, he was the son of Solon C. and Nellie Clough Savage. A Bath Iron Works veteran, he retired as assistant foreman of the riveting department and later served as Morse High School custodian. An avid outdoorsman, he belonged to the Sagadahoc Rod Gun and Skeet Association and was an expert marksman with many trophies. He left his wife Sarah M. Savage two daughters Lydia Bourget and Ann Misner both of Bath, a son Milton H. Savage of Bath, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
