Another Mayor for Bath Will Be Voted on Oct 26
The Bath board of aldermen set October 26 as the date for a special election to choose a successor to the late Mayor George W. Dean and fill out his unexpired term. Aldermen Arel Coffin and Plant, plus Corporation Counsel Glidden, urged the move after a report on the necessity of a special procedure. Warrants will be issued and city election machinery activated as for a regular March vote, though council members face no vacancy impact. No official candidates have emerged though rumors suggest possible bids.
