Referendum Planned Over One Session High School Plan
The Board of Education voted to hold a parent referendum on one versus two sessions after parental dissatisfaction with the current plan. A 1925 referendum favored one session by two to one. If one session wins, Locketry and Wilson will study lunch options amid past deficits. Enrollment rose slightly in grades but fell at the high school, with total enrollment near 1508. Alfred Gannon, Morse High Class of 1925, enrolls at Coburn Classical Institute in Waterville.

Bath Fire Department Saves Morse Estate Farm Structures
A forest fire near Parker Head Tuesday threatened several frame buildings but the Bath fire department with a combination pumper and truck, aided by volunteers and Popham Beach Coast Guard crew, saved the John A. Morse estate farm houses. The blaze, which had started anew, burned a portable saw mill and appeared to be mostly checked by noon as it edged toward the village’s west side.
