City considers Kelley Spear property lease and Fire Dept tank truck
At a Bath city council meeting the Property committee was tasked to confer with City Manager Mittendorf and City Solicitor Carey on leasing the Kelley Spear site to Harold Troop of Pie Master Packers, with Bath Canning Co and Pejepscot Paper Co having withdrawn bids. Troop outlined plans to expand and use the building for packing, storage, and land for expansion, while Robert Spicer sought land and a northern barn for metal or wooden bodies and possible residential upper floors. Fire Chief Frates advised purchasing a combined tank truck and pumper for added protection, noting a tank truck alone would not cut insurance rates. the council plans to continue discussion.
