The Bureau of Internal Revenue reports that fiscal year 1925-26 tax receipts rose by over 212 million dollars from 1924-25, plus 39 million from other taxes, totaling a near 252 million gain. Flora S McNear 62 wife of Alonzo McNear died suddenly Saturday night at 1119 Washington Street after a heart attack. Born in Woolwich she moved to Bath as a child and lived at 111 Washington Street 40 years. She joined North Street Free Baptist Church at 9 and was devoted to her husband and family. She leaves one sister Mrs Lincoln Bailey of Bath and a niece Miss Choris Seale of Boston.

Mr and Mrs Ray Barnham are on a six week tour to take in the Sesqui Centenary celebration. Mrs Barnham enjoys a two weeks rest from her return trip.
Mrs. Charlotte Haskell arrived back in Ipswich Massachusetts on Thursday after spending several days with friends in Bath.

Edwin Chandler of 4 Park Street seeks a $10 state bounty for a bobcat tail he had amputated after shooting the wildcat in Dever Foxcroft area. The tail was sent to Augusta. Chandler must claim in his home community. This follows an earlier bounty case for a Canadian lynx.
The North Center Parent Teachers Association met and voted to send its president Mrs Charles Farnham as a delegate to the State Parent-Teacher meet in Bangor. The secretary read a report from the state president on the Augusta convention last June and listed upcoming events. In Nequasset Woolwich Folk and an Independent exhibition within the window feature a 49 pound squash. Mr Hussey estimates a five ton squash yield this year and sold eight squashes weighing 169 pounds total to a dealer on Wednesday.
Referee William T. Hall notifies creditors that trustee Hon. John J. Keegan has filed a final report. The final meeting of creditors will be held in the referee's office on November 4 at 2 p.m. to review the report and declare the first and final dividend.

They aim to sell 600 tickets before Thursday to ensure the event proceeds. Harry Blossom of Auburn spent the weekend in Bath with his brother John Trainor of Crescent street.

More than 70 dollars was raised at a war memorial supper in West Bath grange hall to support the Roland H Smith post building fund. George Halas a Topsham mill worker was fined for support of his wife and 12 week old child. He refused to pay the fine and Friday afternoon was committed to Augusta jail for six months by Judge Keegan of Bath municipal court. Deputy Sheriff Roscoe C. Perkins took him to jail.
James C. Callan and Stella May Boyce, both of Bath, were married October 21 by Rev. Fr. Nicholas J. Horan at St. Mary’s. The groom is son of John P. and Mary Callan. the bride is daughter of Joseph W. and Edesse Boyce. Cold weather noted with ice forming in pools and drivers using denatured alcohol in radiators.
The only October term jury, chaired by Associate Justice Guy H. Sturgis of Portland, found for Fil Van Leuwee of Richmond against Clifford W. Gray of Bowdoinham, awarding $300 plus six months interest totaling $309. Adjournment followed as the term ended. Several divorces granted including Cruel and Abusive Treatment and Utter Desertion with wives resuming maiden names where noted.
State Treasurer William L. Trenney sold $500,000 of 4 percent Kennebec Bridge bonds at 99.54. The issue dated November 1 is payable in 1941 50 and was bought by Estabrook and Co. of Boston.
