The body of Joseph M. Baker, 41, a prominent Auburn businessman, was recovered from the Little Androscoggin River near the Barker Mill dam at 2.45 am Wednesday. Medical examiner Dr. J H Cartland ruled the death a suicide by drowning after Baker had been missing since noon Tuesday and Auburn police had started a search early Wednesday.
