Patten Library Trustees Hear Librarian and Treasurer Reports
At the annual meeting of the Patten Free Library in Bath, Librarian Florence R. Calderwood and Treasurer Warren Higgins presented figures for the year ending Oct. 1, 1953. Circulation rose to 33,483, with March the busiest month and April 21 the peak day. The registration grew to 716, aided by gifts from local groups and individuals. Accessions totaled 870 books added across various genres, with notable donations and library activities including Book Week events and a Peter Rabbit birthday celebration for children.
