Sees Mother First Time in Nearly 30 Years
Mrs. Gerda E. Harvey of this city returned to her daughter Mrs. Emery I. Freeman at 5 Dike road after months in Sweden visiting her mother Mrs. Marie Carlson in Kalmar. Harvey left July 3 for Sweden and arrived Aug 6 for her mother’s 81st birthday, reuniting after almost 30 years. After three months, she left Goteborg Oct 1 on the Kungs Holm to New York and arrived in Bath last Sunday. the return voyage was rough.

Bathman Arrested On Liquor Charges In Portland
A North end resident was taken into custody early Sunday morning by Federal Prohibition Investigator Chester N. Marr charged with illegal possession and single sale. He was taken to Portland to face U S Commissioner Gould. Investigators said neighbors had complained and observed a sale of a small bottle of alleged alcohol through a window, and a search found a small quantity of liquor.

City Council Votes to Rebate Bath Iron Works Tax

Mrs. H. C. Woolley decorates Montsweag Farm with novel roadside signs featuring a lifesized pig Peter Rabbit and a fox to advertise apples. The Woolleys harvested 6500 bushels this fall including 3500 McIntosh and 1000 Northern Spy varieties. Frosts in June and two weeks ago reduced output from a record 12000 bushels two years back.
