After a prolonged conference the Bath Iron Works executive committee approved a two question yard wide referendum for production and maintenance workers to vote next week. Plan One keeps the current incentive bonus and individual contract system, while Plan Two proposes a yard wide Overall Incentive Contract sharing savings pro rata. Plan Two could replace all other bonuses if management agrees, though piece work remains under either plan. The ballot excludes departmental contracts as not approved by the War Labor Board. Voting may be completed in one day.

A group of Baths County sailors set sail Sunday morning to transport a sailboat from Orrs Island to Brigham's Cove. The boat, bought by Edward Cummings of 418 Washington Street, was to winter at Brigham's Cove. Skipper Raymond Smit accompanied along with Maynard Brown and Leonard Wetherbee Tone.
