Police Chief Frank L Moriarty announces renewed enforcement of the city wide ban on overnight parking to aid snow removal. He notes many drivers fail to clear snow from rear windows and says offending vehicles will be stopped and occupants required to brush off snow for safety.
The big coal steamer Berwindvale carrying 9000 tons of bituminous coal for the Kennebec Wharf and Coal Co. arrived at the city Monday noon from Newport News. It left Saturday and Sunday in a gale but endured a rough trip without trouble and met its scheduled time.
Reginald W. Pettingill weRC and Fred A. Vahmeier FCC return to Norfolk Virginia after spending holidays with Pettingill's mother Mrs. C. C. Hosmer and sister plus her husband Mr. and Mrs. William Wallace of 841 High street. Vahmeier from Denver Colorado is described as a happy Pettingill.

Myrtle Lodge of Odd Ladies met Friday night after a fish chowder supper. November birthday members Mrs. Lillias Larrabee, Mrs. Sadie Savage, Mrs. Agnes Perry, and Mrs. Mary Gillespie were honored with two iced birthday cakes. Officers were installed and the degree team for the first time since taking office exemplified the degrees. The group voted to omit the Christmas sale. an Easter sale will be planned. The government session will be in Waterville on December 8 with Fort Halifax Lodge as hostess. Past Ladies' club to meet November 28 in Bath then visit Mrs. Agnes Perry at 850 Washington St. for a social evening. Next Myrtle Lodge meeting set for December 8.
The Business and Professional Women's club met November 21 at the Sedgwick with a 6 thirty turkey dinner. President Thelma Mittendorf delivered Thanksgiving greetings as Miss Mary Roche discussed 81st Congress laws affecting women and children, UN visit, Herald Tribune Forum insights, and previewed State legislature challenges. Next meeting set for December 12 at Sedgwick.
The Girls' Knitting club invites boys by girls who call for escorts and present corsages. Don Holroyd of Berlin New Hampshire won the best vegetable corsage with carrot tops and assorted vegetables. Potato chips and soft drinks were served. the club meets Thursday evenings at the Center with 25 members. Barbara Urquhart presides, Eleanor Cummings is vice president, Doris Alexander secretary, Vivian Clark treasurer.

The Cosmopolitan club sponsors a public supper on Saturday evening December 2 at 894 Washington street. Beans salads and cold meats will be served by Miss Rachel Nichols Mrs. William Davis and Mrs. James Knight with Mrs. Girard Billington in charge of the dining room.
IOOTA SIGMA held its monthly session last Tuesday at Mrs. Dorothy Swearingen's Wesley Street home. The rummage sale yielded a favorable profit, and a Thanksgiving basket was approved for a needy family. Margaret Hanscom and Verena Marjorie MacDonald conducted a swap. The next meeting, December 13 at Mrs. MacDonald's Russell Street, will feature a gift wrapping demonstration by Mrs. Lucy Cutting.
Theta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at Mrs. Pauleley’s Meadowway home. Miss Fannie Clements and Mrs. George Gardenier presented the subject Conduct of Friendship and Love in a charming, interesting manner. Plans were discussed during the meeting.
The Executive committee of the P T A Council met at City hall at 7 30 Monday with Mrs Charles T Small presiding. Appointed to year committees were Paul Scanlin health, Mrs Ralph E Milliken publicity, Mrs Stanley Hutchins program, Mrs Isadore Singer Story Telling Hour chair, and Mrs Harold McElman volunteer works at Story Hour. Children’s Hour report noted 75 to 100 weekly attendees. The council promotes a children's theatre production Rumpelstiltskin by Portland’s Children’s Theatre at Morse High School Saturday at 11. Tickets through teachers. An Infantile Paralysis meeting with county chairman Mrs James Noftall on Jan 5 was announced. Next council meeting Jan 8 at Littlefield School. A short discussion closed the session.
Mrs. FredQuimby chaired the Cosmopolitan Garden club advisory board meeting Monday afternoon in the president Mrs Linwood Boardman’s absence. The program titled My Favorite House Plant and Why guided the session.
The club's next meeting is December 11 with Miss Nelly Goodrich and Mr. Guy Crosby as guests. Tea will be served and members may invite a friend. The Washington street clubhouse will be decorated in Christmas regalia and members will prepare arrangements for display.
Mr and Mrs Harmon Barter and daughter Bernice of Stoneham Massachusetts formerly of Bath arrived Sunday and joined neighbors for Thanksgiving activities at Seguinland Park. The group shared a 16 pound turkey cooked by Mrs Day and Tamara Day hosted a patio party with sandwiches cake and drinks.

Bath court heard a series of minor offenses as a home resident and two men, Libby, 35, and Donald Morang, 31, pleaded guilty to malicious mischief after breaking a diner window. Recorder Quarrington imposed seven days in the up river jail to ensure lodging and meals until an Army insurance check arrives. Charles Pelletier and Officer Kingsbury handled arrests under new anti lodging rules with state police as complainants.
A Bath man admitted guilt to intoxication at Bath Municipal Court and received a 30 day Kennebec county jail sentence suspended by Judge Gardner R. Deering with 60 days probation.
