Georgetown Church Speaker Discusses Our Father Contrast
Philip Mather of Brunswick delivered a Sunday sermon at First Baptist Georgetown from I Peter on Our Father, contrasting Old Testament reverence with New Testament familiarity. Mrs. Myrtle Thompson Wren of Georgetown Center, widow of Edward Wren, died at Memorial hospital after a coronary attack following home-care concerns. Mrs. Hazel Gay helped summon aid. Wren had moved here after her father Lewis Thompson’s blacksmith era, and the Wrens were quiet town neighbors. The community noted school heat issues with vandals flooding the cellar and a broken window, while Miss Joan Hagan injured an ankle at Morse High and remained on crutches.
