Nahanada Steamboat Prominence on Kennebec History
The 17th installment recalls the Nahanada, once the Eastern Steamboat company’s queen on the Bath Boothbay Harbor route. Built 1888 at Bath, she ran 97 feet with a triple expansion engine, trialed at Chopps Point, and carried thousands without incident before a 1927 tow operation left her fading from memory on the Kennebec.
