Westport Bridge Blasting Opens Major Maine Project
Work continues on two large jobs, including a half million dollar Sasanoa Bluffs to Arrowsic bridge and a $300,000 Wiscasset to Westport road project. Blasting through a 60 foot deep ledge yields eighty eight thousand yards of rock for a bridge fill with a nine foot clearance, using as much as two tons per blast. A three ton rock once flew across the Sheepscot to Westport island.

Harford 52nd Wedding Anniversary Celebrated in Bath
Mr and Mrs Fred W Harford of 122 Front Street were honored Monday at the home of their daughter Mrs Charles L Merry 120 Bedford Street on their 52nd wedding anniversary. Gifts included two wedding cakes by Mrs Fred Hegner and Mrs William P Merry with flowers from several relatives. The Harfords, married in 1897 in Belfast, have five children. They have lived in Bath 30 years and he formerly captained coastwise vessels and pulp barges.
