Miss Winifred Rich Johnson married Charles Shaw Bradeen of New York City at Grace Episcopal Church. Rev. Charles Myron Tubbs led the single ring ceremony. The bridal party wore autumn chiffon and velvet gowns with velvet trim. A reception followed at the bride’s parents’ home on Sumner Street with music by Stevens orchestra.

Hon Edward W Hyde hosted Sagadahoc Rod and Gun Club members at the YMCA gym for a banquet and meeting. W J Bodwell spoke on an Alberta hunting trip with slides and film. The club discussed fish stocking, duck sanctuary law, and proposed gunning hours from sunrise to 3 pm. Thirty new members were added, and monthly meetings were planned.

Cars in collision on Peterson's Hill
A Buick sedan driven by Mrs Alden G Smith of High street was badly damaged Friday night at the top of Peterson's hill on the State highway when a Nash car, driven by an Kennebec bridge employee, struck it in the rear left. The Nash had less damage and one other person rode with the Nash. State highway officer Harry L Thompson investigated the crash. the Nash driver was test driving a new car with one other occupant.

Condition of Boat Pleases Inspectors at Bath Visit
Capt Osmond Berry chief inspector and W T Young boiler inspector visited Bath Thursday to inspect the State ferry Gov King. Berry praised the ferry boat’s condition and urged manager Edmund Briggs to keep all boats in similar shape. They dined at the Colonial. Carl Hall Bates 30 visited Phillip Stackpole at Campbell's Pond over the weekend. Hall is son of Rev F H Hall and now at Brewer.

Boy loses life in surf at Vem aquid Point during storm
Rob ert Creamer of Wisensket was swept from the rocks by a heavy sea at Vemaquid Point on Saturday and lost his life. A faithful dog belonging to his uncle leaped into the boiling waters to save him and was drowned. Both bodies were not recovered.

Deputy Falin Captures Seven Foot Black Bear in Maine Woods
Deputy Sheriff Fitz G. Falin shot a seven foot black bear near Island Falls Maine, the first in years in the area. The bear weighed about 400 pounds and required axes and a road clearing to move to the camp. Falin dispatched the bear with a single shot between the eyes and the animal will be mounted as a rug with head and paws.
