Mrs. Asa Hathorne of Woolwich marked her 92nd birthday with a tea at her son Maurice Hathorne’s home. Donald Dauphin 13, son of Mr and Mrs Octave Dauphin of Arrowsic was killed by buckshot from a 20 gauge gun carried by a companion while returning from a hunting trip near the Dauphin home. Richard Small 13 said Donald was about 15 feet ahead when the accident occurred as Small slipped and the gun discharged striking the ground. Donald died at Bath Memorial Hospital. County officials labeled the incident accidental with the shot entering the back and moving upward.
