The Sagadahoc County Probate Court filed Capt. Samuel R. Percys will showing an estate near 250000 dollars. It allocates one half to his daughter Mrs. Allen M. Irish and one half in trust for his wife Lucy E. Percy. If the daughter survives to Mrs. Percys death, the alternate half goes to Allen M. Irish and the remainder to charity institutions including Old Ladies Home Y M C A Old Folks Home Memorial Hospital and Winter Street Congregational Church.

Bath Couple Finds Lakes Frozen Over After Hunting Trip
Mr and Mrs Herbert Lermond returned from a hunting trip on Chamberlain Lake near the Canadian border bringing a 125 pound doe. The cold weather left lakes frozen marooning them as they trudged through snow two inches deep and crossed from Lily Bay to Kokaoo Lake by canoe. They broke ice for half a day between Mud Pond and Suncook Lake and carried their canoe two and a half miles, with a flat car used for two more miles. Return required an airplane ride to reach their car. In the same week Mrs Gerald Holland hosted a Halloween dinner at 17 Granite Street before traveling to Portland for Civic Theatre with guests including Mrs Roy Lutz and others.

Sagadahoc Pomona grange met Wednesday of last week with Bodwell grange at Small Point. An address of welcome was extended by Mrs. Mary Pratt, and was answered by William Gould. Letters from aid to youths were read. a ten dollar gift to the Educational Aid Fund was voted. Reports showed flourishing granges and talks on farming topics followed by vocal solos and readings. A state agriculture official spoke with colored picture visuals. The November meeting moves to November 20 with Topsham grange.

Carlton bridge receipts rose by 1786.70 in the year to October with total 169,836.10 for January through October 1940 versus 168,049.40 in the same period 1939. October rainfall boosted receipts by 874.25 compared to a year earlier. The October business table shows 5 Cent Passenger and 50 Cent Cars earning increases for 1940 over 1939. Cash receipts reached 13,651.45 in 1940 against 2,777.20 in 1939.
