Silver Wedding of Bath Couple Falls on Sunday
Mr and Mrs Edward St Martin of 1306 Washington Street celebrated their silver wedding anniversary with a family gathering at home on Sunday. The couple were married at Beacon Street Methodist church in Bath by Rev E Iton Post and were attended by the bride's mother Mrs Ralph Anton and cousin Mrs Frank Cox. A wedding supper followed at the bride's parents' home on West Street. They have two children John St Martin and Carolyn M St Martin. Mr St Martin works at Bath Iron Works as a shipfitter. They are long-time Beacon Street church members. Mrs St Martin is daughter of Mrs Ralph R Dunton and the late John Acabe. The couple celebrated with cards, gifts, and flowers. he gave her a diamond ring and wedding rings with diamonds. Continued on Page Two.

Family of Three Narrowly Escapes House Fire
Mr and Mrs Matthias A MacDonald age 83 and 81 with their 7 year old grandson Bobby MacDonald escaped a smoke filled home at 10 Huse Street Thursday night with help from neighbor Herbert L Anderson of 12 Huse Street. They reached safety through a first floor window after the front door failed. Anderson alerted Central Fire Station as a box was rung. The fire caused considerable damage and the family, who are uninsured, had recently installed a new stove in the front room with a small amount of wood burning before retiring.

Winter Street Congregational church hosted a large parish supper with silver service settings, floral centerpieces, and a menu of chicken salad, chips, peas, hot rolls, ice cream, crackers, and coffee. Navy Day Observance Stages Multiple Festivities
About 450 attended a Navy Day dance at the USO hall with Joe Avery's orchestra and Bath Iron Works flags. Lt Cmdr Baldridge and Lt Cmdr Marshall spoke as part of the program.
