Sagadahock County Woman’s Christian Temperance Union held its 45th annual convention at the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Lora S. La Mance of Lake Wales Florida keynoted afternoon and evening talks. Mrs. Grace C. Howard was unable to attend due to illness. Sessions included reports, committee appointments, a children’s program with nearly 200 youngsters, and an address on the harmful effects of alcohol. Officers and department heads were reelected and new leaders named for the coming year.

In Bath municipal court Friday morning Ralph Davis of Gardiner faced contest over a signed statement alleged by the State to have been made hours after Valnessa Sproul Dolan died at Elbert M. Bates home in Richmond. Davis is accused of being an accessory before the fact of manslaughter. County Attorney Carey sought to introduce the statement.
