Capt John F Skillings age 68 died at his home 906 High Street after a two month illness contracted in Cristobal Panama Canal Zone. A former commodore of the Panama Railroad Steamship Co, he commanded the Ancon and Cristobal and served as commander in the U S Naval Reserve in 1917. Survived by wife Edith, son Roger, daughter Ruth, and sister Mrs James E C Sawyer.
Walter C. Boucher funeral held Friday at his parents home in Five Islands with Rev. F W Hovey of Georgetown Center Baptist church officiating. Bearers were Orville Rowe Lloyd Pinkham Russell Pinkham and Franz Stevens. Burial followed at Five Islands cemetery.

Stone of Biddeford defeated Al Bedard of Lewiston in the main event at the Arcade arena. Hyde Windlass fighters K. O. Dorice Povich of 327 Front Street Bath earned a bachelor of literary interpretation at Emerson College of Oratory Boston on May 29. She will perform in the commencement pantomime and is a Menorah society member. Povich led freshman stunt junior week activities, wrote the class song, acted with the college Children’s Theatre, and appeared in plays debates and readings. She is a Morse High School 1925 graduate.

The Ar G u Not Klub of Master Masons linked with the A and K St Ry Co visited Polar Star lodge No 114 for a special meeting with supper at Masonic Temple. Joseph M Lemont 78 a prominent West Bath citizen and dairy pioneer died Thursday morning at his Sanford Crossing home of pneumonia. He served in the grange and school board and planned a 52nd wedding anniversary with Laura Ellen White in May. He leaves a large family including his wife, children, grandchildren and relatives. Funeral held Sunday at 2 30 PM at his home with Rev Ernest M Holman officiating.
