The Five Islands fund collectors gathered pennies to fill 100 wooden holders at a foot length each, totaling 100 feet and 15 dollars in cash gifts. Contributions came from Malden Somerville Bath and beyond, with families like Hodgdon Lewis Southard and Rowe aiding in the effort to fund a bell and belfry.
Mrs Elbridge Southards former home aids in raising funds to place a bell on her old home church. Aid Society met at Mrs Mabel Connors with ten members and finished some work while Walter Berry from Salem cares for his ailing father Deacon Leander Berry who is very low.
