A letter from Donald Wishart's parents describes his hospital recovery after shell shock in World War I. Born June 21 1895 in Glasgow, Wishart trained as a draughtsman, worked at Clyde shipyards, and served with the 24th Battalion C I F and No 4 Stationary Hospital. His family notes his church and Marine Draughtsmen ties. Bath may be proud of his service as one of its adopted sons.
In Lowell Massachusetts Mrs Margaret Quinn reports relief from Change of Life symptoms and headaches after using Lydia E Pinkham's Vegetable Compound and praises it as the best remedy. In North Haven Connecticut Mrs Florence Box notes improvement after taking the same remedy and Sanative Wash and urges others to try Pinkham products.
A $10,000 fire damaged two stores with stock ruined. Volunteer brigades and Company II soldiers aided by handling ladders and hoses on the roof amid thick smoke. Building owned by the J. C. Ledyard estate, over a century old, partially insured. William E. Harrison received medical aid after being overcome by smoke. The fire likely started in the attic chimney. the site formerly stood at the Broadland Front Street corner before auction sale for fifty dollars to Fowler Bragg.
An advertisement touts Dean's Ointment for itching skin eruptions that disfigure and annoy, claiming effective relief and a price of 50 cents at drug stores.
Historical notes describe Laer purchasing the Center Street site formerly Charles Davenport hack stand and relocating the building. The Front Street corner room housed Judge Croton who summoned Squire Riggs in major cases, later used by J B Swanton for private office, Pierce’s photograph studio operated nearby, and Mrs E A W Rouse leased part of the building for ten years during the move.

Robert Shea veteran marine engineer of the Kennebec river valley celebrated his 91st birthday Friday at his Lincoln Street home. He enjoys fine health and has sailed from nearly every Atlantic port and crossed the ocean many times. He was born in East Pittston, son of John and Clarissa Knight Shea.
Richard Webber, a young fireman on the tug Pejep scot, was found unconscious after a heavy iron ladder fell on him in the fire room. He was removed to his home on Middle St. Webber once resided in Woolwich. Moosehead Lake ice broke up Sunday according to local fishermen reports.
