City adopts new fire insurance plan with Drake Sons as lead agent
The city, approved by the council earlier, implements a new fire insurance system. James B. Drake & Sons will write three policies of $656,467 each, renewable yearly, with premiums paid in equal yearly amounts. The Drake firm will allocate 25 percent to it and 15 percent to five other local agents, as compensation for coordinating the plan. Total city fire insurance remains $1,969,400 at $5,429 annually, now written at 90 percent of value but allowing up to 100 percent recovery per building if total losses do not exceed the policy total.
