Court decides case for ship owners here
Judge John A. Peters ruled for defendants in an admiralty suit by Giovan Battista Richichi and others of Palermo against James B. Drake & Sons of Bath over a 1916 charter. The $42,000 claim argued the master acted without authority when contracting cargo transport to Florida. The decision asserts no express or implied master authority existed given easy modern communications. Proctors: Merrill and Thompson for defendants. Andrews and Nelson and Brooks for libelants.
