Top prize of 250 dollars in the second annual 2000 dollar contest by the Labor-Management Production Committee of Bath Iron Works Corp. was shared by Newman Kennerson of Bath and Arthur W. Henry of Orr's Island for a rigging device cutting destroyer installation time for anti submarine equipment. Second place 200 dollars went to Edward T. Collins of Bath and Joseph L. Bath school children organized a waste paper drive surpassing previous totals with over 47 tons reported by the schools. Totals by school included North Grammar 19,854 pounds, Dike 11,723, Huse 10,200, Weeks 10,000, South 9,680, Central Grammar 9,060, Center of 8,000, Mitchell 6,639, North Primary 5,642, Ungraded 4,250, Washington Primary 3,450 for a grand total of 98,488 pounds, with dealers showing about two tons less.

She praised Rev Jacob Bailey for settling Dresden and promoting horticulture. New members elected included Mrs Laurence Schessler Mrs Eleanor Cahill Butterfield and Mrs Mary G Oliver. Year 1945 1946 officers were named with Mildred C Albee as Regent and Miss Helen Hartwell as Historian.
