A three months hunt along the Atlantic coast for a replica of the Arabella ends near Capt. O. A. Gilbert in New Bedford. The James J. Maloy, once a lumber steamer, is docked at Kinney’s wharf in Onset and being converted into a modern tearoom. Gilbert, named by the Massachusetts Bay Tercentenary Inc, aims to have the craft on exhibition as a copy of the Arabella that carried the Puritans to America in 1630.
